2013 Nor Cal Pirate Festival in Vallejo

2013 Nor Cal Pirate Festival in Vallejo

The 7th annual NorCal Pirate Festival was last weekend on Father's Day in Vallejo. This was my third year attending and it just keeps getting better. Crowd favorites The Seadogs, Captain Jack Spareribs, and the Ship to Shore Cannon Battle were present along with some new ones.

Hungry for brainz!

This year was the first time admission was charged to attend.  $10 at the gate for an 8 hour event, that's a good deal. The Fest ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to secure some shade for the main stage and dining area. Last year the weather was brutally hot, even on the waterfront. This year, however, was cool even to the point of being chilly in the shaded tent.

I took some video and still photos while walking the festival and enjoying the entertainment. I was accosted by a scurvy dog for pointing my "Canon" at him, which would make him point his cannon at me! Well, it wasn't a "Canon" bit I did arm the big gun: 45mm-200mm lens.

He must have arrived aboard the Nautilus

Fae Girl

And the first video I edited, my friends' stepdad was pressganged into Jack Spareribs' show.

Captain Jack Spareribs sets fire to a little girl's $20 bill. Said the trick works better with a $100.

The Northern California Pirate Festival is every Father's Day Weekend in Vallejo, next to the Ferry Building.
