My Own Personal White Whale
I've been chasing the great blue heron around Rockville Park's Upper Lake fairly often of late. The bird has been very elusive and skittish. Until now. I was able to approach very slowly and closely continuously shooting.
Lumix G 45-200mm lens. Check. Aperture: f/5.6. Check. ISO 500. Shutter speed... 1/1250s. Yes! At that zoom range, a shutter speed of 1/400s or faster is needed to get a sharp photo.
