More Pena Adobe Photos - Part 1
More photos from Pena Adobe: once in the rain and around the lagoon and a sunny afternoon a couple weeks later.
I decided to walk on the level ground around the lagoon since it was raining and I didn't want to slide on my butt downhill through mud. I came to the bridge leading around the lagoon and saw two pinecones left on the rail. I thought it might be a votive offering to the troll of the bridge or something.
I selected as my lens for the day the Lumix 45-200mm telephoto lens. With overcast skies and light rain didn't expect good landscape shots. Instead I focused on capturing birds. Getting a good focus while they were surrounded by reeds proved damn difficult.
Even with the telephoto I managed some cool landscapes. In the above photo I got low near the surface of the water and captured the raindrops falling in the lagoon as well as the reflection of the hills above. Below, I found the view of the picnic table to be appealing, with the lagoon nearby and the tree covered hills beyond.
